Stories of the ABC
Over the years ABC has had the privilege of pilgrimages and concert tours, traveling to various countries throughout Europe.
In 1995 the choir had the rare and exciting privilege of singing at the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Portugal, for processions and special masses in which over one-half million pilgrims participated.
The choir took a tour of Ireland in 1997, and visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Knock. The people in Knock took to us joyfully.
During the summer of 1999, the choir toured Rome, Italy to begin the celebration of the Millennium.
In late June 2000, the Boy Choir returned to Fatima, Portugal, in order to celebrate the beatification of the two little shepherd children, Francisco and Jacinta Marto. ABC was later featured in the magazine "FATIMA MISSIONARIA" - Aug.-Sept. 2000 - written by Padre J. Carrera. The article title "Cantores de Filadélfia" translates to "Singers from Philadelphia". In March 2002, the choir journeyed to Avila, Spain to celebrate Semana Santa (Holy Week) in this wondrous walled city and the birthplace of Saint Teresa.
As you can well imagine being part of the choir has had an enormous impact on the boys. Some of the choir members have been inspired to take pen in hand to recount their experiences. The following links are stories written by various members of the choir. Keep checking back from time to time as we bring you their ongoing adventures.
